Start with the type of information you will be selling. Is it for stay at home moms? Is it for business people? Focus in on your ultimate target market.

Then take a look at the type of products you will be selling. Will you be selling reports or newsletters? Or will you be creating ebooks or training manuals?

Then focus in on the type of industry you will be selling your information products to.

Use your answers from each of these questions to start building names for your business. A domain name should say what your business does as well as identify who you are.

You may also want to try this with family/friends. I've named several businesses, and some of our best names have come from a brain storming session over dinner and a bottle of wine. If you have several people working together, you can feed off of each idea, and come up with something worth keeping.

The naming of your business could be one of the most important decisions you will make. A name's originality and legal availability will create a real asset value of its own, as it becomes marketed and gains market acceptance.

The name you choose will become the focal point of all the benefits and features that relate to your product or business. Customers will be able to find and refer others to it in the future.

Since any names that are suggested here may already be owned by another party, I wanted to go a different route...

I suggest either hiring a name creation firm or get together with your friends and/or family and throw a "name party" & have everyone bounce some ideas around. Compile a listing of names that you like the best. Once you have that list, do as much free research as you can before you delve into comprehensive research. I listed some links where you can do some preliminary name checking. However, please be aware that this is merely scratching the surface of what's out there. Only comprehensive research will tell you if the name is truly available. But, these links are free & a great place to start, so I'd try them out first.

There are other sites that offer free searching capabilities in conjunction with their commercial services, so I'm not able to post those links due to the Yahoo! TOS. You'll also want to check domain names & yellow pages, so simply do a search for "free domain name search" and "national yellowpages" and the appropriate links will pop up.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

The answerer who said that no one here is going to give you a good idea is spot on. You are going to have to come up with it on your own. Watch out for the scams! Think about these things: - what do you really love doing? - in what way can you help other people? - what do people need that they are not getting or that you could do better? - what might be your target market and how do the demographics look? Retired people, young people, etc.

Check out Sedo and Afternic. Both are excellent marketplaces for selling and buying domain names.
