Anne Boleyn -- mother of Elizabeth the First. She had ambition and style, just poor judgment. Followed by Katherine Parr, because she took the greatest risk, considering Henry's track record at the time.

Katharine of Aragon if my "favorite" as she displayed honor and true Queenly qualities. She suffered so much at Henry's hands (and her relatives), yet still maintained her grace and never resorted to public temper tantrums as later wives did. She was a true Princess and behaved the part. While I'm not too big on her "blind" faith in such a lackluster Pope (no excuse that Clement was under pressure from Charles) and didn't try a little more forcefully to fix her own problems, I admire the way she handled herself when she was called before the court to testify about being Henry's lawful wife. Even though Katharine was on the loosing end and under so much pressure, she calmly knelt before her King in supplication showing all Queenly qualities that were wanted of the time period. Throughout adversity she kept her cool and that, to me, is impressive as it is so very hard to do.

Even though I think Elizabeth I was an incredible person and Queen, I can't abide her mother, Anne Boleyn. She was such a bourgeoisie whore who had no class and no idea of what a Queen should be. Yes she was ambitious (she gets credit for that in the art of manipulation and moderate patience), but she also prayed upon Henry's ego (which in the end led to her own down fall) to the point of blatancy (if one is to manipulate, at least they should have the decency to be covert!) and alienated many of the court and public by her rapacious conduct. She behaved in little way as a role model (as being the “Queen” she was) should.

Anne Boleyn, she had her own bowling alley / burger bar installed in the palace and she could play a mean banjo.

Katherine Howard. She was vivacious and full of life. Even though she was cheating on him, how could you blame her? She was half his age and probably couldn't perform anyway. She was so young and carefree, her life was cut short (no pun intended) because she was a pawn in her families ambitions.

Ann of Cleves. She was loyal to him, even after he purportedly called her a "flanders mare". She survived being married to him and lived in comfortable retirement in England with the title "King's sister" until her death.

Ann Bolyn. She would rather die than have her child not take the throne. She made sure her daughter would be queen of England.
