Like everything else relationships are a trend type of item. If you look back in history you will see that infidelity has often been a trend and was accepted at certain times more so than even today. I believe that to some degree we are already seeing a slight return to monogamy. Over all though historically monogamy has not been the dominant style of relationship.

I think that all human beings need love and have love to give. But I don't think that monogamy is the only way to express love.

I don't think we'll ever ALL be single, but we may be united in different forms to the traditional heterosexual-monogamous-procreative marriage, which unquestionably still suits some, but feels restrictive and domineering to others.

As long as you get what you want from life, don't worry too much about the rest of us; I'm single and thankful for it. I have friends who tell me 'but I just wish you could experience what I have with my partner', but that's just not what I want, and I would surely end up hurting someone if I went along with it for the sake of being 'normal'.

Others discomfort is invisible to our eyes as nicely as our hearts! hunger is inflicting this variety of super style of deaths and this would desire to be inflicting an earthquake yet over back it does not!!! yet, take my phrases that a word could make the finished international sing! music and the humanities are the strongest weapons because of the fact the asserting is going: The pen is mightier than the sword. nicely it rather is the comparable with music. Our united voice would desire to ring a unmarried word and that's the only of Compassion! we would desire to constantly be looking after one yet another and make this international a extra useful place for all of our varieties + of course different living issues! unfortunately, i do no longer hear that ringing in my ears; purely an out of song sound scattering the melodious peace and quietness I dream of...A dream i'm no longer giving up on so quickly! thank you actually!!! :-)

AwayWithTheFairies is totally right. Humans are not naturally monogamous, its a socially constructed concept. Very few species on earth are monogamous in fact, so its the exception rather than the rule. Have u realised the 60s are over btw?

I hope not and there will always be people who only want monogamy, but i fear they are fewer and fewer. I think one of the problems is that we have become too much of a consumer society, so that when we look for a partner we have, as it were, a shopping list of what we want - and if they don't tick all the boxes then we move on to the next one and so on, and so on.

There are people that still value serious relationships and committment. It is depressing that half of all married couples these days divorce, but I am very willing to fight the cycle. I want to be a faithful wife that is still married to her faithful, first husband and having their 50 year wedding anniversary.

I will not accept my boyfriend/fiance/husband cheating on me. We have talked about it and we are both on the same page. I think it is one of the most important things in a relationship...you have to trust the person to be faithful.

No, I think that although some people do choose to have the more commitment free life, there are others that crave that feeling of love and trust. I couldn't live without knowing that I am completely secure with my fiance and that we are totally commited to each other.
