I am a Finance student and am going to pursue an MBA in the coming year or two. I am just wondering how influencial the MBA degree really is. Thank you for your input!

I would highly recommend that you work for a few years before pursuing a graduate degree like an MBA. You'll get a much better feel for the areas in which you'd like to work, plus the real world experience is invaluable when you're studying theory in school. In the financial areas, such as investment and banking, an MBA would be almost mandatory to obtain a good career position.

It depends on what you want to do and for whom you wish to work. If you want to be an ibanker with a well-to-do firm, then you need an MBA. If you want to start your own biz, then you don't really 'need' one...
