Go to www.peeonastick.com, it will answer all of your questions regarding home pregnancy tests. It shows that there have been a very few false positives, but it is extremely rare and usually just due to a test being misread. She is almost positively pregnant, and should be excited! Good luck to her!

My doctor told me NO ABSOLUTELY NOT. You can have a false negative result but NEVER a false positive. I felt exactly the same as your sister because I had the easiest pregnancies in the history of the world - not so much as a swollen ankle! Didn't believe I was pregnant either 'til I had the scans. I think your sister can quietly celebrate!! JOLLY CONGRATS!

tell your sister that these test are 99.9 percent right and that they would not be picking up a pregnancy hormone if she was not pregnant thats how they work by detection of the pregnancy hormone tell your sister if she has done 2 test and they are both positive well then she is pregnant tell her to go vicit her gp and he will send her for a scan when i first done a pregnancy test i got a feeling there was something wrong and i was right it was a eutoic pregnancy and only i got checked by my gp he caught it in time maybe your sister is having the same kind of feeling that there is something wrong but there is no harm getting checked out

Slim chance that 2 tests would show positive if there was no pregnancy. Actually, theres very little chance for a false positive doing only 1 test.

I have taken a billion and a half pregnancy test while trying to conceive my daughter, and I have 3 children. Let me tell you from personal experience...if the test is positive, she is pregnant! I don't know ANYone who has had a false positive, occasionally a false neg if it's taken too soon. Congratulations!!

with all the new tests out i think its really unlikely to get a false positive. when i went to the doctor my second pregnancy i told her i had taken 2 homes tests and both came up positive..she said then i almost definetly was pregnant and i was. I'd say your sister is pregnant. Congrats!

You can, but the chances are slim to none. My doc told me that if that happened and the blood test negative, it was more than likely a very early miscarriage. The other thing is certain drugs, such as fertility and various others. this coud cause a false positive result.

There are mistakes in home pregnancy tests. But the biggest mistake that you can have is a false negative. You can't have a false positive, because home pregnancy tests are only able to detect a hormone that is present in pregnancy. There is no way it could detect that hormone in a non-pregnant woman.

Trust me-- there is no such thing as a false positive
The pregnancy hormone is always found in the urine-- if it's not present its a negative result-- and obviously if it is then she will definately be pregnant...
Tell her not to worry because the scan will show that the foetus is growing so tell her its a joyous occasion and be happy

It's possiable, but not very likely. Especially if she has taken two tests, and they have both came out positive, she needs to call her family dr or ob/gyn for a blood test, and let them know she has taken two pregnancy tests and that they both came out positive. She needs to do this as soon as possiable so that she will know for sure.
