My friend has recently become LOVED by all the 'popular' kids in my year. I'm a bit worried she will forget about me and get in with the crowd of popular kids. Her good friend is now 'Shannon' and she has become very sour with me, like about 30 minutes ago on the way to the bus she said 'look I'm getting really sick of you I haven't said anything to Shannon!' and I didn't even say she had ¬¬. I think she is becoming like Shannon because Shannon doesn't like me much, she said yesterday 'Don't talk to me Hannah.' And it sounded like it was as if to say 'you're so unpopular you'll ruin my image' I'm a lot like my friend and she's my best friend and she is a lot like me too but for some reason they don't like me. I think she will become popular like 'Courtney' is and forget about me because she has been ignoring me a lot lately and is getting more and more sour. What should I do?

WELL...I HAVE TO ASK YOU A QUESTION FIRST...? DO YOU REALLY CONSIDER A FRIEND SOMEONE WHO WHOULD DISMISS YOU IN A MOMENT? SOMEONE WHO WOULD TRADE BEING A FRIEND, WHEN YOU HAVE BEEN LOYAL...DO YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT A FRIEND IS...DOES SHE? BECAUSE SURE PEOPLE WANT TO GROW IN THEIR POPULARITY, I DO NOT THINK THIS IS WRONG, BUT YOU DO NOT TRULY HAVE WITH THIS PERSON, WHAT IT TAKES TO HAVE A FRIENDSHIP, WHICH IS NEEDED BEFORE BECOMING FRIENDS. FRIENDS THAT ARE TRUE FRIENDS AND RESPECT THE MEANING OF FRIENDSHIP...DON'T GIVE UP ON A PERSON (or leave them behind), WHEN SOME OPPORTUNITY ARRISES THAT BOTH CANNOT BE WORKED OUT. (friendships and popularity). age is also sometimes a factor...younger people tend to close their minds to reality, or proper behavior sometimes...but don't worry about her...she is obviously not to worried about you...i am sure in time you will find a true friend, don't be angry, be glad you learned early her description of what a friend is.

She is what is known as shallow. She has used you up and moved on to be with her fellow shallow tribe members. I'm sorry, she was never your friend, and you found out the hard way. Life can be hard at your age, full of hurtful experiences. Pull up your socks and find a real friend. The best way to have a friend is to be one. Good luck to you.
