I might be going to Kuwait with KBR, just trying to get some feedback and first hand experiences.

Sure, what do you want to know about KBR? I have been in Baghdad, Iraq working for KBR for about 22 months. Experiences will vary from person to person; they also vary from job to job. I work in the HR department so naturally, I don't undergo the same types of stresses and/hazards that a truck driver does. Depending on where you are stationed, “generally”, the living conditions are pretty nice! Food is kick *** (no more ramen noodles!) and most good areas are pretty low on “activity”. And as you might know pay is pretty decent. Actually, for US contracting companies, KBR is the lowest paying; there are many other contracting companies out here that pay really decent compared to KBR. (It’s a “more money” for “living in luxury” trade off if you follow me.) Just to name a few, Washington Group int., Raytheon, Black Hawk, Fluor Daniels And many, many other Security contractors… KBR is the biggest and like I said they tend to have better living conditions.

All I have to say is you better have your head on strait and be able to handle a tone of Bull Sh*t! because, you are going to get more than your fair share dealing with all the grumpy contractors, the different military personalities, and all the stress created by the harsh conditions and heat! (Today it was about 125 degrees F.) if it’s a job you decide to take, you are in for an experience of a lifetime. Good luck! And stay safe!

I have worked with KBR as they were a contractor on a project I was on and have alot of friends that work for them, I also know a couple of there directors, KBR are a good company with major international experience, Kuwait is a nice part on the Middle East, I presume you are an engineer, therefore most engineers will work overseas for part of their career and there are a lot of worse places than Kuwait and I would rate KBR in the top 5 of EPC companies

No, but I recently applied to several jobs in Iraq and Afghanistan. If I'm chosen and hired, I'll let you know when I return in a year!
