It really depends on what price range you are looking at and what area of Charlotte you are looking at. Charlotte is a fairly large city and there are several different districts or areas.

www.inest.com has a list of new communities that are in the process of being built in Charlotte and even cities near Charlotte like Gastonia and Concord.

www.realestate.com has a list of home listings for any city or zip code in North Carolina if you aren't looking for a newly built home. You can also request a copy of the real estate book that has all of the home listings in the county you are looking at. Charlotte is in Mecklenburg County, so that is most likely the real estate book you will want. Some surrounding counties are Union, Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, and Lincoln.

The 2 web sites (inest.com and realestate.com) I think are the best for finding home listings and comparing prices.

Also, inest.com has information such as crime rate, population, school information, etc. about different areas as well.

Good luck in finding your new home!
