Having asked this same question to my doctor, I was told it's just old blood. For what ever reason in your last flow it stopped, so this is basically last months left overs. Also as we age, our flow change in amount, color, tendency and texture. If it has a very different smell, or your having other symptoms with it, call your doctor or make an appointment to have a check up. Remember to be aware of changes to your body, and let your doctor know.

the brownish blood in question is probably just you coming off your period but you would need to specify that to be certain I used to work in a hospital and we treated people several types of discharge you need to give more details to get a better idea of whats going on. do you have burning upon urination? is there an Oder? Are you experiencing vaginal irritation or itching? if sexually active do you experience pain during intercourse?

Brownish color blood and gelled blood is an indication of old bleeding that has ceased and partly coagulated. In short, the bleeding's done. Some women have this at the end of their monthly cycle. Totally normal. Hope this helps.

The menstrual cycle is probably either starting or stopping. It happens sometimes when I have been inactive or lazy. If it continues, you may want to speak with a gynecologist or other health care professional. A tub bath or douche is another way to ensure that the vaginal tract receives a thorough cleansing between cycles.

Yup, some girls that are going through some hormonal imbalances have been known to get these brown discharges in lieu of their monthly periods. They come monthly as well, just a bit different from they typical 'flow'.

Yes...usually when you're finishing your monthly period, this sort of "stale" blood may discharge. Better out than in, lol.

Might not hurt to check with you gynecologist on this. Don't know your age, but you might need a D&C. Check with you doctor!
