Most of all people focus on the baby and get the baby gifts of course which is without a doubt. But have people considered the mother and what she might like to keep her comforable throughout the last days of her pregnancy or even after the baby comes. i would get her something that would be relaxing to her that is just for her aside from the baby because the baby is going to be taking care of now whose going to take care of her?

The best thing at my shower was, My mother has this picture of me I was
about 6 month old and Im sitting by a tree in the park, I was wearing this cute outfit. My mom found an outfit that's almost identical to the one I was wearing in the picture. I was in tears. It was a great idea.
As far as making mom happy just have alot of friends and family there and keeping giving her alot of attention. If she likes baby shower games, make sure you have a lot of them, Im sure she'll have a great time.

If she already has a lot for the baby and only needs a few more things, try getting something for her. She will definately need a little pampering and some mommy time.

Get her input on a lot of it...

Who does she want to be invited?

When does she want to have it?

Does she want games? If so, how many and what kind (trivia, silly, etc.)

What kind of food would she like to have?

And of course, lots and lots of presents!!!! Ask her and the daddy-to-be to make a gift registry so they get the things they really need and want.

Also, personalize it in some way. If you know the mom loves lilacs, then decorate the place with lilacs, etc.

Give her all the attention! Cater to her as if she was the Queen of England. Compliment, compliment, compliment! And don't forget to buy her a gift just for her, not the baby, we tend to forget about the host of the baby. Good luck!

We took little Onsies (the little one piece outfits) and had each guest paint them with fabric paint. The baby gets new clothes and the mommy gets a permanent reminder of the day.

Pampering her is the key....she is in for a hard job so making sure she is in a calm, warm, and loving enivorment is the way to go. Also make sure you have her favorite foods on demand.
