It is hard to speak, write, or even convey an experience, without using this word,
but if it was removed, not used....it is possible we would see things less selfishly, and become a more inclusive society.

What do you think?
Try going a day without using it :-)

How interesting.
Go a day without using the word "I".....

A previous poster said you cannot remove the Ego from the Man.

Disagreeing respectfully, because this attempt at not using a word such as 'I' is a grand and interesting idea in that it would certainly suppress Ego.
It is then submitted that continual suppression would indeed have a great chance at eliminating the vice of placing ones' Self to the forefront of thought,
and in doing so promote Inclusion, which is what the original questioner had hoped would be the end result.

Of course, one cannot claim Ego would be totally eliminated, yet this excersize would certainly be a cerebral evolvement toward that end.

Wondering if it would be possible to go one day without using it......"hmmmmmmmmmm"

like you understand it like you understand it sorta merely like you understand got here about i wager. yet I accept as true with you and it bothers the hell out of me. you're not any more including some thing to the sentence by ability of utilising those words so why use them? I realized very early to really take heed to myself at the same time as speaking and replaced into in a position to rid myself of the somewhat stressful habit of putting forward, "Uhmmm..." each and anytime i replaced into searching for a be conscious or some thing.

I don't agree if "I" wasn't a word, then there would be no way to say ANYTHING about yourself!!!! I think if given the chance to remove a word from the English Language, my choice would be "die"

I like the idea of using "we" instead of "I", just as royalty do. This means I'm identifying my self with the other person's self. For example, "we do not like that cake", instead of "I do not like that cake". I interpret the former as "since I do not like the cake, and I am your brother and you love me, in some sense you share my dislike / suffering at the hands of this cake. So you also do not like the cake, in some certain sense. Hence, we do not like the cake."

Further, the words "thee" and "thou" are supposed to be inclusive, just like "we". The sentence "Thou art tired" implies some sort of empathy - that I feel what you feel kind of thing.

This is not my idea, it was propounded by religious philosopher Barry Long.

So "we" instead of "I" and the reintroduction of the words "thee" and "thou" in everyday language might help reduce selfish attitudes and a resurgence of honour and respect.

don't agree wth you, me s a selfsh word too, and don't thnk cuttng t out of the englsh language would help people be less selfsh. what about other languages, are the spansh less selfsh because they use "yo" nstead of ? also, look at all the great words that don't nclude t, lke: help, love, teach, hope, and peace. plus, look at how stupd ths looks wthout the letter "i"!

I would remove the word moist...because it is just gross!

It would be an interesting exercise. Don't think myself could do it. Who me am thinks the word "hate" may be a better word to eliminate. Maybe we would forget all about it.

Removing a word from the dictionary does not mean it will disappear from our vocabulary - nor will omitting a word from the dictionary prevent us from using it.

you cannot remove ego from man. It is the essense of being human. the word that should be removed is self. because ego can still provide for other than self.

No (I) would remove my & mine. I here this out of persons in relationships and marriages until I could scream. It's supposed to be ours not my house, my furniture, my children, my dog, my money. Let's keep I and get rid of the more selfish my and mine. PLLEEEAAASSSSEEE!!!!!
