the question really is, if we send someone to go marketing and we will pay him 8hrs for marketing, but some people put like 12-15 hrs that day say if the flight is early morning to and they dont get back to say 8/9 at night. do we only have to pay them 8 hrs or do we have to pay hrs from say 7am - 9pm when the person gets home?

I work as a freelance marketing supervise for a company and all of my work is travel. When it is in driving distance it is by the mile. If I have to fly I get paid by the hour from the minute I leave my house till I get to my hotel. This is not the norm but if it helps then great.
Good luck

Generally, "Commutation" is not subject to compensation.

Employees should be compensated for the time they actually work.

"Lunch" and "Dinner" cost is almost always reimbursible. "Travel costs" are reimbursible to the employer.

Most companies do it by mileage, not hours.
