Obviously I cannot use thier names - I might not get my question answered. I guess freedom of speech is OK only if you happen to agree with those in power. No real freedom here. Surely a true democracy is not afraid of criticism?

The first couple of answers really miss the point of the question. The question I saw was neither offensive or inflammatory. It just had the names of two group in the question (one that starts with a T the other with A Q). This type of censorship only encourages ingnorance and fear. Discussion is the only way forward. Knowledge and understanding is the only way to real peace.

If the question inspires hate or violence, then Yahoo will usually remove it. Freedom of speech exists here but Yahoo has the right to remove postings that they feel are dangerous. It is owned and operated by Yahoo and therefore is a private company, not a government entity.

They have rules which you can read. They are called terms of service.

Simply expressing a political point of view is certainly acceptable on Yahoo! Answers. Here are the things that aren't acceptable:

YOU MAY NOT POST CONTENT (or links to content, including photos):

to exploit, solicit, or harm minors.
that is violent, racist, incendiary, or otherwise objectionable.
that are abusive, threatening, slanderous, or belligerent against any individual or groups of individuals for any reason.
that violates federal, state or local law.
that contains profane, obscene, vulgar or sexually explicit language.
that glorifies self-harm, suicide, anorexia, bulimia, or any other practice that is clearly unhealthy or harmful.
for commercial or advertising purposes, including classified ads.
to vent your frustrations, rant, make statements, or otherwise violate the question and answer format.
to post personal ads or your own or others' personal information.
that violates the Yahoo! Answers Community Guidelines or the Yahoo! Terms of Service in any manner.

When someone clicks "Report Abuse," real people review it to see if it violates one of the Terms of Service above. If not, then the question will remain posted.

I think it is because the US is truly not a free country, I think as long as the questions are not towards violence, racism, or hatred it should be okay.
