Like with Mascara, it tightens the skin under your eye. So that way you get it where u want it and not where you don't want it.

I do it because when I first watched my mother apply make-up when I was a lil girl, she always opened her mouth to apply the eyeliner and lip liner....now I do exactly what she did.

to increase the access you have to the eye...you tend to stretch the skin of your entire face when you open your mouth that way...
I guess it's a defence thing...less likely to poke your eye out when it's open like that due to your mouth being open too.

is just a face muscles common behavior, I guess is just like having a long night drinking with your friends, when you get home around 3am, there's no lights, you don't wanna turn 'em on cuz you don't wanna wake up anybody, you know is dark as hell, you know you can't see anything but your eyes are open, like I said common behavior LOL.

That way we don't get wrinkles around our eyes. I don't know the exact way we do, but we do get wrinkles when we are older if we don't open our mouth.
