I was on "the patch" and when I got off it, I was told over and over again that it would be a while before all the drugs were out of my system. So when I was pregnant right off, I was like, "Wait a minute, this couldn't be right??" But yeah, I was pregnant like that.
The thing is, medicine goes by the "average". Individuals are individuals, they aren't factory models where everyone is the same. So, biology, physiology, and just attitude and will changes the whole thing. I personally think I got pregnant just because I wanted to so bad, but there are women who wanted it just as bad as I do that have to try forever. I partly also think it was because I wasn't "trying" to get pregnant, and therefore I was thinking about my partner and relaxed and having fun and not "trying to make something happen". As Homer Simpson said, "Trying is the start of failure."

This is my standard answer......... go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive. My Doctor recommended it to me and after 1 year of trying I got the book. It worked the very next month. It turns out that my timing was wrong due to mis-information. I hope it helps you, too! It's not only about getting pregnant. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

It took me three months total. The first two I just tried the random method... just doing it around ovulation time. So like 10-14 days after my period... then the third month I bought an ovulation test and I got pregnant on my first shot with that. So three months all together.. I wasnt in the mood to wait for it to just happen. :)

Three months of trying and got pregnant with my son and 4 months of trying for my twin daughters.
That was after they(the Doctors) said I could never get pregnant and if I did that I could never carry one long enough to be viable.

7 months. Then they just kept comming....
If you're trying to get prego don't try too hard and don't stress about it or else it will take forever to get prego. If you have too much sex the guys stuff (sperm) amount is weak and not enough there to pregnate. Space you baby making sessions to maybe like twice a weak so his sperm count can build up for better prego chances.

It took me almost 1 year. I was on birth control for 10 years and it took it that long to get out of my system. Everyone is different, take your time, relax and above all have fun!!
