Would also like to know what the costs of taking the tests were. I am a former Broadband Engineer with about 3 years experience in networking.

The tests are tough. Networking experience may or may not be a +. The questions are tricky and built around "Microsoft MOD curriculum" If you know the answers 'BILL' wants you'll do fine, if you know networking in any other form you probably will not pass. Best bet is buy one of the MCSE study preps & memorize it. The Official MOD is available from MS and has all of the answers the way they want them.
You don't say where you are so it's hard to guess how much it costs to test. Again try MS for better info.

Just read the books and have a good memory. I actually used the sybex books for my nt4 stuff and mcse for dummies for the win2000 stuff. Download practice exams and make sure you can ace them. The tests are not that hard, it's basically the ability to regurgitate the info from the books.
