Lets say you buy Cereal and you use your debit card to pay it off. Does the bank charge you any extra fee for using the debit card?

If they do - change your bank. I've never had a charge for using a debit card. If I withdraw money from ATMs not associated with my bank - then there is a charge. If you use a credit card to withdraw money - you pay a charge and interest from the date of withdrawal. In the UK, it's wise to use a credit card for purchases over £100 because you get legal protection if something goes wrong.

No - the bank does not (sorry let me change that - MY bank does not charge, you'd have to check your bank's rules).

My understand of the rules (again going by my bank) is that the only time you are charged for using the Debit Card is if you go to a different ATM (not owned by your bank) you will be charged a service charge.

Have a lovely rest of the day.

Depends on lots of thinks...most off your bank, some places charge if it's under a certian amount say $5 ir $10. Then some like taco bell charge .99 for all charges but those places have a sign posted.

No, but places or bill companies can "charge" a fee for using a debit card for making payments, etc.

nope. the only time you would get charged using your debit card is if you use an ATM that isn't your bank's ATM. sometimes you'll get a fee from your bank in addition to the fee you're charged at the ATM.

No, actually it is the other way around. Sometimes it could be cheaper to buy with a debit card because you don't have to pay taxes. Do you love it?

That depends on the bank you use. Sometimes the store will charge you and then the bank will charge you on top of that.

You will usually get the atm fee if you choose the debit option. Choose the credit option and you won't.
