Join some kind of college and take a course in something that interest you. That way you can meet all kinds of people and take part in college activities, sports, clubs and events.
And when you do make friends and go clubbing, go to the boat yard. Top night!

Actually, depending on the church, it might not be a bad place to meet people but sometimes it may be more stressful than it's worth
I'd suggest doing a search at groups.yahoo.com with keyword "barbadian" and see if you can find some people that you can connect with that aren't interested in a girlfriend. As always, be careful.
Identify activities that you like - surfing/ football/ swimming/ community service - and attend some events... you might meet people there that you like. Join a club. Go to Crop Over Events. Go on cruises (Harbour Master). Go rallying. Lots of stuff but maybe you don't know where to look.
As long as you're not a serial killer or something ( :P ), I'd love to make a new friend - I'm currently in the US but I'm moving back home to Barbados in July.
Let me know if you're interested in meeting up and I'm *definitely* interested in partying. :D

I don't see anything wrong with going to bars...but I just wouldn't make it a daily habit. I would concentrate more on finding a job vs finding friends. Cropover is coming...you don't have any friends from home that would want to visit you? Then at least you wouldn't be alone & could possibly meet more people.

I m a single lady coming to Barbados for the first time. Since its a very slow tourist season, everywhere is so quite. If you are still here at the Barbados, I would love to meet you.

Give your self a purpose and while working from that purpose you will find friends and friends will find you. I made several trips there , love it and would love to be in your position.
Email me, I can give you something important to do.
I'll have you do some research on family history.

If you find new person in your homeland or somewhere, you will indrouce yourself and ask her or him to join with you. Then you will talk to the new friend and walk with her/him into park, mall,or anywhere you wan to go.
