Yes it is. I think that most times people will see right through it and know that the person is really insecure. Also, I think that being overly confident kinda forces people to find faults in you. I think it's best to focus on being a good, kind, decent human being and people will fall in love with you for that.

Worse than what ? Worse than a poorly constructed sentence which lacks proper English?

Pretty sad when confidence as a person rests, both in the eye of the beholder as well as the person themselves, in beauty. While I am sure there is a downside to being overconfident, I am not sure there is an "upside" to lacking confidence because of your looks.

It's actually hard to find "ugly" in the world - there is a reason for the word "average" because most people are exactly that. The long term value of a person rests not in their looks but in their integrity. There are some pretty lovely individuals in the world that are ugly, ugly people. I'm thinkin' the question you've posed may well define where you fall on that scale.

It depends on the social circle you live. For example... if you try being "someone" [even if you are ugly] you may feel like you "fit" in the group.. But in the inside, people have attributes that make them unique. Being too confident is good for yourself, if you're confident your self-esteem should be at the top [maybe not but not so bad anyways]; remember life is not made of pink colors.. if you're ugly [Im not trying to be mean] you need to accept it and try to work on it, accept yourself as you are... don't try to "be" someone else, just be yourself. Briefly, being too confident when you are ugly is OK depending on the people around you (if you care about what the others think; if you don't care you don't need to worry about this). Maybe people can take a laugh looking at you and they may say... "Look he's ugly but he's happy".. and that is the result of you being confident. You need to analize it from both perspectives, the good and the bad.

lol no....being confident is a good trait.

Being a woman, I'd rather go with an ugly confident man than a handsome guy with low self esteem.

Being confident makes men attractive. I cant completely explain it, but I think it shows that they have the drive to become successful...and that's sexy. Women like assertive, aggressive, intelligent men. Beauty is skin deep but what women really want is someone to provide a solid foundation for their family (ie provide for me).

Good Luck!

What? Feeling great about yourself even if you are not a model? Why, oh why would you think being confident and being beautiful is the only way to go?

Let me ask you...is it better that you know you're an ugly dumba**, and feel rotten every waking moment, or should you continue to be blissfully unaware?

I'd say it's best to let folks feel good about themselves. It's you who needs the attitude adjustment, not the other person.

Physically speaking Yes, because arrogance is revolting. People will wonder if you ever look in the mirror and worse feel very sorry for you.

No, being confident isn't about how you look it's about who you are.
Although being "too" confident can border on arrogance, again regardless of what you look like.

No, I think if someone is happy with their looks, whether society or you think that they are ugly or not, makes them better. It shows they have self esteem and a better image of themselves, and makes you look shallow for judging them based on looks.

I assume you mean not physically meeting society's standards. If so, you can be an incredible person & be confident enough in that to overlook your appearance.
