Why would people choose a public forum to talk about their most personal and intimate problems? Does it frighten you that people who appear on the Jerry Springer Show really exist?

I wouldn't want to broadcast my problems on either one, but if I were forced to, it would be Dr Phil. He has a much classier show and seems to genuinely care about people, from the little I've seen of it-I read the book about his sister who had acid dropped on her from an overpass and it was heart wrenching-Jerry Springer's show seems staged and it is very uncouth and without any class. Jerry seems to add to the mix and stir people up. He doesn't seem to offer any real solutions, but just as a mouthpiece for sickness in society.

As far as the quality of both shows goes, Dr Phil wins hands down..
I never really understood why people talked about their personal problems in front of complete strangers...
I guess that it is the need to be famous that people have that makes them do such things..
I think that such matters should be discussed behind closed doors..
But then there's no such thing as bad publicity..
I am not surprised that the kind of people who appear on Jerry Springer exist.. It does take all kind of people to make the world.. But it's at the Jerry Springer show where there's an unusual concentration of freaks..

I wouldn't want to tell "the world" my problems, but if I was just going to talk to them, alone and in private, I would prefer Dr. Phil. I never cared for Jerry Springer.

Probably Dr. Phil. He seems better at helping solve peoples problems. Jerry Springer is mainly for the drama, fighting, and the beads. I personally wouldn't want the world to know my problems, unless you want to help others like you, who by coincidence, are watching that particular show.

Just how stupid can you be to air our your dirty laundry on TV!? I would go to neither! Dr. Phil isnt all he thinks hes cracked up to be and Jerry Springer is just a circus master! The morons that go on these shows are just that!

I'd rather be on the Dr. Phil show. At least he has some sense. Jerry Springer is a moron who runs every time someone starts a fight on his show. I wouldn't trust him any farther that I could spit on him.

It does frighten me that people have no dignity and go on those shows. i think most problems that are intimate need to be kept to the minimum. i certainly wouldn't tell everyone "my boyf gave me AIDS" (not true by the way). I think it's quite ridiculous actually.
