I'm blue to the point of black and feel like a bruise on the a** of society. It will pass days like this always do, I was just wondering if I was the only one today.

*sigh*
No you're not alone. Its actually very comforting to know that someone is feeling as lousy as myself. What makes it even more unbearable is that everyone around me seems to be having a wonderful day. My friend is actually humming, "Its a Wonderful World".
Aaargh!

Ten percent of Americans are being treated for depression so you are not alone. There are different types of depression and the most effective treatment is psychotherapy plus medication. If you have the occasional 'blues' some helpful choices include exercise (stimulates endorphins, those naturally occurring "happy making" chemicals in our bodies), seeking out contact with empathic friends, and focusing on a favored activity rather than brooding (hard to do, I know) among others.
By the way, many highly successful people suffer from mood disorders. You are in good company.

I have the hopeless blues. I am hoping it's just the pain pills I am on for an infection from tooth extraction. If not, I am going to have to re-examine my life and find out what I need to be happy. Yeah, right, HAPPY....what the heck is that??? Am I rambling again???

I don't know how you got to where you are today, but reading your question left me with a profound feeling of sadness. I feel your strength, but even the strongest need help from time to time. I hope you have some support, whether it's family or friends, that can listen and understand.

I don't know why I say this but somehow I know you will be OK.
