I'm 14 and last month I tried to put in a tampon and it just didn't work...I'm totally uncomfortable about sticking ANYTHING "up there". Is this normal or am I being paranoid?

I think at first its difficult and uncomfortable, but once you get the hang of it and practice with it.... you will love it so much more than a pad. Believe me. Maybe let your mom know and she can give you pointers or help you out. Also read the manual, it will help you. Just dont stress. Take some time and practice.

If wearing a tampon is uncomfortable for you because it is inserted inside your body and you just don't want to do that, then don't. If it's uncomfortable because you can feel it, then you may not have put it in far enough. Relax when you insert it and put it in as far as you can while still being able to remove the tube.

Try starting with the very small ones first. I remember the first time I used one I couldn't even walk. Just relax and do just as the directions tell you.

It isn't going to be comfortable if you don't relax! If you're uncomfortable with the idea of using them, then DON'T!

Your being "paranoid", try sticking your fingers up there first that should help!
