A true blue rose is not easy to get ahold of. Check out the article. You can always buy a white rose and stick it in some water with blue food coloring. Same effect, a lot less expensive.
A truly blue rose has been the Holy Grail of rose breeders since 1840, when the horticultural societies of Britain and Belgium offered a prize of 500,000 francs to the first person to produce a blue rose.
Molecular geneticists with Florigene and Suntory achieved the prize that had long eluded conventional rose breeders by combining something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue.

I have never seen a true blue rose, but I have seen a very pretty lilac or lavendar colored rose. They are called Sterling Silver roses. Maybe that is what youre thinking of? See link below.

sorry i havent seen that type of rose, i just came here to check whether anyone answered to your question. so that i too can know whats that type of rose. but i think it might be painted rose.

there are blue girls and blue jays... both of these types of roses turn blue. hope this helps!
