She tells me that her boss curses her and degrades her in addition to the yelling. I've told her I think she oughta report him for harassment and abuse. If I ever came into contact with that boss of hers, I would yell at the top of my lungs to him for treating her like that.

Beat the crap out of him

Seriously: these two things will DO THE TRICK!

1. Ask her if you want her to go kick his butt. Then
tie up your shoes and head for the door. But, don't
go kick his butt. Jail is not nice. Nor is unemployment.
She'll just love you for your brut and your protective
drive and she'll be snatched into the moment and reality.

2. Check your local listings and let her watch
AFHV: America's Funniest Home Videos. Works
for me everytime I feel low. It's cheesy, but human nature
works: laughter is truly the best medicine.

3. Go to www.youtube.com and put in the search terms
"humor," etc. The FUNNIEST video on there is from the
show "Family Guy" when the dog tries to cheer up someone
by singing the song "Peanut Butter Jelly." SO search for
family guy and peanut butter jelly. Get her to watch that
stupid video and she won't cry again.

4. Hold her hand, sing her a song (Especially if you cannot
sing) and make her a sandwich. You are now officially a
"cheer-leader." Good!

(sorry that is four things)

Buy her some flowers that she loves and a special humor card to make her smile. She may also want to switch jobs! Have and help her start looking elswhere for a job and when she gets on she can quit this one. What did he yell at her for?

don't try to solve all of her problems just listen to her sometimes getting it off her shoulders is a relief. If she yells at you ignore the yelling not the person and if she don't want to talk about it let her know your ears and heart are always open.
