When turning a steering wheel 94 GMC Sonoma?

The steering doesn't engage untill ten degrees either way. It doesn't have rack and pinion my thought is that idler arm is ba.... doesn't this seem to be the problem. What do you think.

I think it's the Pitman arm to center link joint. This joint is usually the first to wear out.
