do you think the security precautions taken by the veterinary practice regarding the banking are adequate? In what ways could they be improved?

No, they are not adequate. Deposits should be made, if there were sales, at the end of each business day. She should go directly to the bank and, unless it is only a few blocks, take a car. If she does walk, she should not walk alone. She can run her errands and stuff her face on the way back.

First off, the manager should be the one doing the drop, and have someone go with them to do it.

Secondly, it should be done everyday and not on Fridays at the exact same time. A thief could watch this go on and rob the place on Thursday, getting the week's worth of money. It is not wise to keep so much or any amount of money in the safe after closing.

Third, never go at the same time, whatever day it is. Break it up a little.
