The best Yankees lineup of alltime is definitely the 1998 Yankees.
They won 114 games during the regular season, winning their division by 22 games over the Boston Red Sox. Plus they won 11 more games during the postseason and became the World Series Champions, sweeping the Texas Rangers in the American League Division Championship Series, winning the American League Championship Series in six games, and sweeping the San Diego Padres in the World Series, for a total of 125 wins and 50 losses, more wins than any other team in Major League Baseball history.

1927 Yankees. You got six future Hall of Famers on that lineup. Earle Combs hit .356, Lou Gehrig hit .373 with 47 HR, Bob Meusel hit .337, Babe Ruth hit .356 with his 60 HR.

The '27 Yankees batted .307, slugged .489, scored 975 runs, and outscored their opponents by a record 376 runs. From wikipedia.org. Crazy, this has to be the most imposing lineup in baseball history.

Can't really argue with the '27 Yankees, but the 61 Mantle and Maris combo makes the power of that lineup phenomenal.

Any Yankee team that had both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in the same lineup. I believe they were the two greatest hitters of all time.

1961 Yankees, with Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Yogi Berra and "Moose" Skowron combining for 207 home runs that year.

1927 Murderers Row
1961 M & M Boys Big Year
1996 Dynasty Year

It's hard to pick one, but probably Murderers Row, they kept going well past 1927
