The Kona Grille in Summerlin is one our favorite places to hang out. But if you are tethered to the strip then try Emeril's in the MGM Grand, Seafood Buffet at the Rio is excellent, Almost every restaurant in the Mandalay Bay is worth trying but stay out of the restaurants that focus on their little theme too much, ie. house of blues, rainforest cafe, hard rock cafe etc. The food is decent but your on vacation do it right. Same steak higher price, so save your money and go to your favorite local steakhouse,. Don't be fooled by all the so called deals you can get in Vegas for food and such, just remember that restaurants in Vegas have a bottom line just like any other restaurant in the country and you will most of the time get exactly what you pay for. So save the 2.99 steak dinner for a dare.

In downtown Las Vegas, the Main Street Station offers a very good, extensive (and reasonable) buffet

Away from downtown and off the Strip are two excellent restaurants:

Casa Di Amore (Italian)
2850 E Tropicana Ave
(702) 433-4967
http://www.casadiamore.com/
They are located a few miles east of the Strip and are open 24 hours. I believe they offer complimentary limousine service to and from the restaurant.

Viva Mercado's (Mexican)
6182 W. Flamingo (at Jones)
(702) 871-8826
http://vivamercadoslv.com/
about 3 miles west of the Strip.
Extensive menu. Delicious cheesy bean dip (or is it beany cheese dip?)

For the ultimate dining experience: Le Cirque (Bellagio)- prepare to drop $400+ for 2

For an awesome view and great food: Alize (Palms) - the food is amazing, but make sure you ask for a strip view, probably will run close to $250. Also try the Voodoo Lounge/Cafe (Rio) - excellent view, food, and the best drinks in Vegas

On the Cheap: Battista's Hole in the Wall - great atmosphere, decent food, and all the wine you can drink

Unique Experience: Brazilian Restaurant in the Mirage - go for the skewer dinner, you will not be able to walk for quite awhile. the drinks are pretty good here as well

enjoy the best city in the world!!

OK, affordable food is best at The Plaza in Downtown Las Vegas,at the end of Fremont street. Their steak and lobster costs $9.99 (the tails are a little small, but the cheapest lobster on town is $20).
The ritzier place for high rollers (that has edible food, I can recognize), is Kokomo's in the Mirage

Too many to mention... But here are some of my favorites....

The French Buffet at The Paris Hotel.
Ruth's Chris Steak House.
Wolfgang Puck's at Mandalay Bay.
The Big Buffet at the Rio.
Emeril's New Orleans Fish House at the MGM.
Chinois (a Wolfgang Puck owned) at the Forums at Caesars.
The Pizza Parlor at New York, New York.

The buffet at the Westward Ho. I believe it's appropriately enough called the Westward Ho Cafe. It's pretty cheap, and the food was good from what I can remember (it was like 7 years ago). It's down at the old end of the strip by Circus Circus.
MGM Grand's buffet was really good, too, but the line was ridiculous. If you want to eat there, eat first and then go stand in line. Because you will be hungry by the end of it. :)
Have fun!

In my opinion the best value are the buffets. My Husband and I thought the buffet at Aladdin was awesome. We also liked the buffets at Luxor, Monte Carlo and the Rio.

There is also a little Italian Restaurant in the Aladdin Casino in the Shopping area with outside seating that was great but I forget the name. Very nice and romantic.

Las Vegas has the best restaurants in the world now.
The latest addition to superb quality is Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace.

There's few way to find good information, you can go to www.frommers.com look into destination, choose Las Vegas, then restaurant section, that give you a punch of good restaurant with rate. Second, you can call your hotel Concierge then ask for suggestion near by your hotel. Remember to choose a French chef's cook in a French restaurant, or a real Japanese chef's in a Japanese restaurant then you won't miss it. Enjoy

I recommend Sir Galahad's Prime Rib House in the Excalibur Hotel. Not the snazziest joint in town, but the food is great and reasonably priced.

Definitely avoid Fushia at the Luxor Hotel, unless you like uncooked duck legs served by an extremely suspicious staff.

Enjoy your time in Vegas!
