Hi all.
I'll spent my holidays this year (August) in miami.
My question is it dangerous in august? like Hurricanes? or something.
I don't want to waste my money sitting all day inside cause of the hurricanes.

There is a good possibility of a hurricane striking Miami in August. Out of the 273 hurricanes that have hit the US from 1851 thru 2004, 100 have hit Florida. That is 40%!

Its a crap shoot, I am a Florida native, and you never really know, August is a high time for Hurricanes, especially in South Florida. But many times, you have ample opportunity to get out or change plans before it hits. Its awful hot in Miami in august, what about Palm Beach , not quite as bad there and hurricanes are not as common, though it does not have the party scene Miami does. Good luck and have a great time.

Dangerous, NO- but hurricane season is June 1 - November 30. No one can predict 2 months in advance if a hurricane will hit while you are here.

The crime rate in Miami is fairly high, so you should be STREET SMART.
Pay attention to weather warnings. The problem that happened in New Orleans, is that many people simply did not heed the warnings. You simply can't guess what the weather will be like.
