The World Series is the final series of the season that is played in October. It is played between the two best teams* (one each from the American League and National League) to see who is the champion of the Major Leagues for that year. It's a best-out-of seven format. The home team advantage is given to the team from the league that wins the All-Star game in July.
*It's not necessarily the two best teams now that we have the Wild Card. It gets a bit complicated with that, but generally it's the two best teams... at least whoever makes it has beaten out the other top teams in the league championship series.

The World series is a set of Championship games played by the best baseball team in the American League (well, the one who does the best in the playoffs) and the best team on the National League. It is seven-game series, so whoever wins four first wins the Series!
It is also the most exciting week of sports all year (in my humble opinion, anyway).

The World Series is the championship game of Major League Baseball. The United States and Canada is divided into three separate divisions for both the National League and the American League. Each team who tops the charts in their league wins a chance to compete in the playoffs. Also, there is one wildcard for each league (1 for National and 1 for American) so as to have four teams to compete in the playoffs. The team with the highest amount of wins in the entire league wins the wildcard. Then the four teams in each league compete for the chance to play in the world series. One winner comes from each league. Then they set off the play the World Series. The idea is to win the majority of 7 games.

The championship game where the best from the American League and the best from the National League play each other. It is suppose to determine who is the best team in baseball but it doesn't always work out that way.Sometimes it is just a good streak that gets a team to win it and it doesn't really show who was best all year.
