It is true that there is NO exclusive weather channel for India. There may be humpty number of reasons. The best among them are:
(1) Weather awareness of Indian is relatively low.
(2) Even though India is considered to be a agrarian society NO farming community is relying the agricultural advise issued by weather department.
(3) India is a tropical country.Its weather is dominated by SW & NE monsoonal winds and precise prediction of wind driven rainfall especially at tropical area is a Herculian task.
(4) However most of the Indian Summar Monsoon Rainfall is derived from South West Monsoonal wind. This wind is generated near Maritus island in southern hemisphere [30 Deg S and 60 Deg E:Mascerene High] and cross equtorial flow reaches INDIA from SWly direction. The area down south of Cape Comirin(exact south of 8 Deg N ) is is a wast strech of waterupto Antartica. Monitoring of the High Pressure in Indian Ocean, the sea surface temperature(SST), the Out going Long Wave(OLR) radiation etc of Indian ocean and meandiring of South Westerly Tropical Jet {SWTJ} in higher latitude are so complex and hence the precise predication of rain forcast becomes tedious.

its difficult just to launch a channel for weather, nowadays its a world of sponsors and no channel can do without them. we as it is we around 15 daily ongoing news channels which have weather report atleast 10 times a day, in such a scenario i dont think it is feasible to have a channel just for weather forcasting

This truly sucks. somebody desires to do an "anti"rain dance or something... I ignored the Busch race 'cos it became too early for me on a Saturday (6am?). Now the Cup race will in all hazard be rained out and entirely smash my day!
