The reason it was unprotected is because he wants to have a child but I am just not ready for one (not enough time to care a child) therefore I am responsible to take birth control but unfortunatly my doctor's office closes before I get of work. At the current time I am still looking to change doctors but I will need to take a birth control patch in the mean time.

I would also like to know in addition to the question... would it be to late to take the birth control and is there anything else I will be able to take. ( had sex the day right after my period, and it has been three days already)

the chances are lower than normal, for most persons they can't get pergnant during the 14 days following their last period- this is because that is whe they start ovulating, for others it is not so, like for myself my period is not a 28day cycle, it is about 21, so the 14day period would not be applicable to me. it is best for u to study ur cycle over a three month period to see if it regular or irregular, so that u can estimate the time of ovulation

good luck and remember that if ur not sure use a condom!

You can get pregnant at any time during your cycle, but there are certain days when you are more fertile (i.e - ovulation time). If you live near a Planned Parenthood, I would call them to see if they offer Emergency Contraception. At the Planned Parenthood near me, they offer it up to 5 days after unprotected sex. It might help keep a pregnancy from happening. It's worth a shot.

As far as your contraception method goes, the only thing I can tell you is to try to get to the doctor's on a day off from work, or let your work know that you have a doctor's appointment. I can't imagine that your employer would be so unreasonable as to not let you go to the doctor.

My concern lies with the fact that you are allowing your partner to have unprotected sex when they know you aren't ready for a child. I know it's your responsibility to take the birth control, but it is his responsibility to respect your wishes and your body. If this happens again, I would suggest making him use a condom. If he argues, tell him no sex! It's your body and if you're not ready, then he'll have to deal with that. I would keep some condoms on hand just in case this happens again.

Hope this helps!

The chances are rather good. I am 8 months preg. I took fertility and they had me take it 5 days after period, because that is the most fertile time. There are ovulation predictors on the web. I'm not sure of the site names. Type in like trying to conceive or ovulation predictor and it will give you something.

Well what is your regular cycle? Your period usually starts 14 days after you ovulate. So if you have kept track of your periods, you can calculate when you normally ovulate in your cycle then if it is around the time you normally ovulate you could be pregnant.

So take your last 2 periods and count 14 days back from the time you period started, that is when you ovulated then count back from there to when your last period started and that is how many days into your cycle you normally ovulate.

I believe you normally ovulate 10-15 days after the start of your last period.

you CAN get pregnant just after your period -- the period is shedding your last unfertilized egg from your body, but it's possible another has released and is rearin to go.... the semen can also travel up the fallopian tubes, so really it's best to use protection at all times if you aren't prepared for the possible result.
