How many words does each person speak in a day?
Say two words a second. A Politician or businessman might speak for three hours a day, and halve that for the other person talking and you have the following......2x60x60x3 equals, say 20,000 divided by 2 is 10,000.
So we have ten thousand words a day for a talker. For a lonely Nepalese hill farmer without even an Ox to talk to, he might speak 500 words a day. There are many more peasants than captains of industry so average it out at 1,500 words a day per person.
Multiply 1,500 words a day by the number of people, 2,000,000,000 and multiply that by the number of days in 1000years, say 350,000.
Seems a bit complicated still does it? Alright do ‘rounding up and down’
Say 1,000,000,000 people at 2,000 words per day, answer two thousand billion words, easy. Multiply that by the days, 350,000 rounded up to 500,000 because we rounded down the population pretty severely.
Now 500,000 times two thousand billion. Easy again, halve the two to one and add six noughts......1,000,000,000,000,000
One million billion words have been uttered in the last thousand years. Approximately.

In average, a person speak in a day about 800-1000 words. It seems to be a lot, but if you think it isn't a lot. This study is made by Romanian People Research in 2002

There are some 140000 words in the English language and an erudite word smith may use up to 45000 but the average educated person in the street would use 1500 to 2000 words in total!. Jules, lecturer. Australia.

Based on a man being allowed to say 15 words a minuet for 16 hours a day.
For women, simply put a 0 on the end.

Hi, I have read the first 12 answers and some come close but the right answer is female 25000 and male 10000, i.e. question:- did u c the match yesterday? answer fron male, yeh great final goal, and it was offside. Female answer, Well I was going shoping to find some shoes to go with the outfit I got last matchday when I bumped into Amanda, so we went to that new place in town you know the one on the corner..............

Can't remember what the exact numbers are, but I do remember that women say almost twice as many words per day than men.
This is because everything we tell our boyfriends/husbands/male bosses we have to repeat.
Oh well....

i think men say on average 2000 word and women is about 5000 words!

at a guess , Id say about between 2000 & 10,000 words aday, depending upon your social situation, for me being a chef I use the F word about 2000 times aday alone,
