I am looking to set up a monitoring mechanism to track the status of my Mutual Fund accounts just as I would stocks. I am looking to find a mechanism that I can use to do this. Prefer to do so on my Yahoo page, however, any good mechanism would be useful.

Sure. Just list your mutual fund symbols like your stocks. For example, the symbol for the Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund is VTSMX. Every mutual fund has a symbol, usually 5 characters, just like every publicly traded stock has a symbol.

Of course, just like your stocks, you'll have to list your share price at the time of purchase and number of shares as well. You'll also have to keep up with distributions (dividends and capital gains) that have been reinvested.

You could create your portfolio on any financial portal such as moneycontrol.com and it will keep a track of the same. You could even have a watch list to track mutual funds that yopu would like to invest at a later date
