in most things of thought creation, there is a duality that is naturally present in the process...if you have a god, you must also have his antithesis...with religion, the collective insistance that you might be witnessing in the positons of the preacher and your parents is just a conditioning of a tulpic force that was long ago created to control and bring the individual under control...with this, there is also the "dark, devil" underside tulpa (following Newton's theory that for every force created there is also an equal and opposite force created as well)...however, because this kind of thing actually nullifies itself within the essence of of each person in any attachment to this belief system is actually dividing their own undividable selves and causing disease and go against the homeostatic design of the human body because of the intense emotional content of this "collective tulpa"
the truth is, much like the yin yang symbol, there is no line between white and black...it is one...inseperable...however, people go with hue and tone and insist that it is otherwise...imagine two haploid cells coming from parents that at the moment of their nuclear fusion, becomes one cell, one perfect cell with all the information necessary to make you who you are...then, that code enacts, mitosis and mutiple cellular growth and the amazing happens...
what we call god, is actually unknown, never came close to it yet, but by observing ourselves, we can better understand the perspective of something so immense that the constructs of houses and homes and streets...are only because these are the things that the mind of the static human being sees as the highest...what is beyond the potential human? people are scared to pursue that answer...thus, religion is born to obfuscate the attempt even. ..

Some say the devil or evil is a function of the ego. the original story of the devil started with the God Pan in ancient greece who later was converted to the devil by christianity. Evil is very real though, look around and you will see suffering everywhere. Your conscience should tell you what evil is., but some people don't have one so thats a problem. There are so many legends about the devil, some say he is a fallen angel called Lucifer who challenged God because of pride. Don't let people stop you from thinking for yourself, keep asking questions. Society will turn you into a conditioned sheep that blindly obeys whatever someone else tell you. Search for your own answers to questions that are important to you and live the way your heart and spirit tell you. Oh and the red guy with the forked tail is not real. There is evil in the sense that we humans create it by causing suffering to ourselves and others.

Religion is our way to regionalize all sources of good and evil. How would it be possible that all of evil comes from one entity. Humans manifest what we need to survive and with religion we manifest the easiest and most acceptable thing that our minds may handle. Also some religions use figureheads as focal points for their own spirituality. It is up to you. If you want a devil or a god then by all means you should have one, and you should determine how they look. You have the ability to create life and take it, does that make you a god? By all means it should.

Saten can put thoughts and stumbling blocks in front of us. Saten doesn't have a physical form. I don't know where saten lives.Saten is a real thing, so are demons. Yes keep questioning the things you are taught! Alot of preachers don't understand the Bible at all! You might want to consider one day taking some collage classes at like a christian seminary or chrisitan collage about how to understand the Bible. They will help alot.

I find it interesting that "christians" will be all lovey-dovey and recognize the person-hood of God, yet when it comes to evil, they call it bad "karma", hell is THE earth here and now, and that the Devil is mythical.
I find this double-standard very disturbing that the basic tenants of the Bible and Christianity can be thrown out in Western culture, simply because of this "comfort" factor. IE. if you're "comfortable" with the idea, then it exists, if you're not "comfortable" then ignore it or deny it.
This smacks of eastern mysticism, which sez something like "I know I exist, and YOU exist only if I think you exist". Its sort of considering yourself God and the power of your mind is capable of shaping reality.

Maxie,
Some people don't think God or the devil exist, but unless they are stupid, it's quite clear Jesus did live about 2000 years ago. But unless you believe Jesus was the son of God and that he was resurrected then I think the whole devil business is not worth thinking about. But if you believe Christ was who he claimed to be then you have to believe what Christ said about the devil and demons, assuming you believe that his words were accurately recorded. As a summary, Christ said there are unseen spiritual beings, angels and devils, and they operate in what you could call an unseen spiritual dimension and they can affect the thoughts of people. Devils try to get us to do destructive things. Angels protect us. As far as where the devil lives. Right now it says he is like a roaring lion roaming about the earth in this unseen dimension seeking out whom he may devour. I don't know anyone who claims to have seen the devil; except it says that the Devil appeared to Christ and tempted him. Also it says Christ cast out devils who had gotten control of men. But like I said, if you don't believe Christ was who he said he was then the devil is not worth thinking about. The real question is: was Christ who he claimed to be? Did he do miracles? So you don't have to worry about the devil. You just need to think about Christ.

"Satan" was created by men to control other humans. Read Elaine Pagel's "The Origin of Satan" for more researched info on the subject.
