They get pregnant like any other human, although probably closer to dolphins in the actual whelping process.

There is no reproduction, except in the imagination. No such creature has ever been found. However, if they were real, given they have a lower body like a fish.... I'd say they would reproduce like a fish does... Then again, maybe they live forever, never reproduce, and only a few exist, in hiding.
I have read that some researchers believe mariners were hallucinating (they didn't have good diets and often were lost at sea for months), and perhaps they saw manatees (which have breasts) and perhaps thought those slow moving sea mammals were what came to be called, mermaids.

They find a cute sailor that is stranded on an island or fell overboard. They even love cruiseships. They take care of that guy for a little while, and sucking him off in huge amounts. After swallowing so much men DNA, through active transport......the DNA tadpoles swim through the intestinal wall, and into her fat fish ***. Later, she will **** out baby mermaids.

Your brilliant question highlights the reason why so few exist. They have no reproductive parts because they're fish 'down there.' Occasionally, one is born when she chooses to temporarily become human. This almost never happens, so their birthrate is very low - about the same as Japan's.
