A PASS! You mean the fact that they STILL have a harder time finding jobs they are qualified for, are much more likely to die of violent crimes, are more likely to be jailed for an offense a white person would be set free for, are less likely to be promoted in a job environment, are often educated in schools with lower educational standards, are often steered away from buying houses in upscale neighborhoods when they can afford them, are more likely to be stopped and harassed by the police in most parts of this country, receive slower and poorer service in restaurants? All because their skin is a few shades darker. Is that what you mean by them been given a pass? There are always a few people who will try to take advantage. After all Whites have been doing it for generations. Shame on anyone who tries to get ahead by hurting other people, including you. How about this question: How has race and sex politics given White Males a pass in this country? Oh, that's right, there isn't enough space to write all the ways THAT has happened.

The only pass is in the so-called political correctness that is used by media of today, versus the past. I get no free pass as an African-American. I am college educated, at an HBCU, which means no affirmative action was granted, for any neo-cons who might read this; and I am one of the best in my career field. Yet, still, though I have more education, skill, and success in general than most Whites that I come in contact with, their opinions on anything seem to be more important than mine, even on issues that I am vastly more informed about than they are. I am a tax-paying, honest citizen, and because of my appearance, I am treated as a criminal by any law enforcement agency I come in contact with when not at work. I would like to be able to wear a Rocawear or Sean John outfit just once and not be treated this way. There is no free pass for anyone of color in this nation.

If I criticize someone in a protected minority, or if a minority politician is caught in a wrong, the Jesse Jacksons, Al Sharptons and the liberalazzi all scream "You racist!" Worse than that is done to white guys and nothing happens. For example, the 3 Duke Lacrosse players who are arrested were picked out of a line-up by the "victim." I was a photo lineup and the only people in the photos were the Duke Lacrosse players. If the tables had been turned, and this was a black on white crime, the prosecutor would be facing impeachment and civil damages suit for his racist t actics.

I am 58 years old. I have never met a white person anywhere who wanted to trade places with a black person to take advantage of this so called "pass." Perhaps you would like to be the first.
What I HAVE seen more often is that a more qualified black/minority person gets a shot at an opportunity that they would not have been considered for over an often less qualified white person.
You need not worry. In the Reagan-Bush era, there is no "pass!" Happy now?

I beleive what you are trying to say is what gives Black poeple "a pass in the US?" part of it is because they are a minority, part of it is that SOME, not all, use the fact that they were once slaves and should be treated rightfully and fair, and believe if someone speaks negatively about them solely, they are racist though they are not talking about Blacks in general. those excuses are lame and overused. if you look deeply into slavery you will see that only a minor portion of slaves were harmed while a majority were treated fairly. but because poeple hear so many negative things about slavery, they automatically believe that most-all slaves were mistreated. because so many poeple believe this, SOME Blacks use this as a tactic to get there way. although it is unfair for there to be an all Black college and it to be fine, but if there was an all White college, it would be considered racism and would possibly be shut down. If there is an White college that hasn't been tried to be shut down because of racism purposes, i stand corrected, but i don't believe there is. the world is not a fair place for all poeple, including America, but we must deal with it and live life to the fullest everyday!

I feel that this isn't just AA a pass. But an example is the black ***** college fund. Please forgive me if this isn't the exact name. I mean if white people set up a college fund for just white kids my god ever nonwhite perosn would go crazy. I feel that even as women that I'm able to get a job quicker than a white man going for the same job because of the fact I'm a female. I've had it happen a few time

You can't get the best individual for the job without having affirmative action meddling in the process. Another example look at Cynthia McKinney when confronted by a DC cop for not knowing who she was, she hit him even though she was told to stop and not go around the metal detector set up at the House entrance - she cried racism because the cop was white and doing his job.
