was the bomb blast, where were you? What memories do you have of that day?

i was out fishing at a lodge not far from the center i could see the to top of the arndale center from where i was. i remember i was getting a cheese butty out of the picnic bag, while my grandad was throwing some stawberry smelling maggots into the water, when we heard a muffled more of a rumble than a bang.(it lasted2 or 3 seconds where we were).
and the surface of the water rippled from our side to the far bank and back a couple of times before it stopped. we thought it was a gas explosion in a house. and i said "i hope they were out shopping, an didnt get hurt."

we were really suprised when we got back, not a nice surpise either, i cried cos i felt so guilty wishing they were in town.

my mum and grandma were on the bus coming home from shopping at the corn exchange for my birthday pressie, i found out later, that is why i went fishing, not my brother....

IRA Terrorists set bomb off in central Manchester. With the 45 minute warning system no one was killed but 6-700 were injured. I was in Toronto, Canada watching the event of TV with sports team.

I was in bed and heard the big explosion,as i live on the outskirts of Manchester, later that day i went to my local to watch England play France and there were lots of french ppl there come over to the city because we were hosting the European cup that year, one wonders if that had anything to do with it

It was a Saturday I think, I was out shopping in Stockport 6 miles away when I heard about it. Streets cleared damn fast that day, was horrible phoning round friends checking they were home
