There are no 400 lb players in English football who try to stop the other team from scoring.

That's because the British colonized most of the world.

I follow both types of football. I have to say American football is more interesting. A lot more going on and a lot more ways to score points. It's not just kicking a ball into a post.

I watched the mind-numbing World Cup match between Germany and Poland yesterday and cannot understand how on earth anyone watches a game where 4 shots on goal happen over a 90 minute game andit's called "sensational" and "exciting". I could sit on my lawn and watch it grow and have more excitement. I especially enjoy when a guy tries to tackle another guy and the guy with the ball rolls around on the ground clutching his ankle and the replay shows no contact. Why don't they continue dribbling and stop being little girls? Here's what I would do if I played this boring sport...anytime a guy got near me, I would fall to the ground and writhe in "agony". After everyone on the other team get's red carded (the cards I find especially funny) , we would have a 15-on-none advantage and maybe even get a shot on goal. Boring sport for pretty boys to play. American football has hitting and catching, running and finesse with power, strategy and skill...soccer just has wimps rolling on the ground faking injuries

In American football there is more contact than English football, English football is like soccer, so yes I like American football better than English football.

I'm English and live in Australia, i was never a great football (soccer) fan, i preferred Rugby Union when i was living in England and now watch Australian Rules football, however i think American football is the worst football i have ever seen in my life, too much stopping and starting and the players look ridiculous.

I agree, everyone but north america seems to be really involved in soccer(football), don't get me wrong we play it and in canada its the fastest growing sport for young people, but when will you see canada in a world cup?... not until some serious money gets put towards the programs (comparision: funding for hockey). i actually enjoy watching both american and english football, where american football is more about commercialism and english football is about strategy.

i guess my choice on which is better really depends on the teams that are playing, i would rather watch my favourite football team play if no good soccer is on, or vice versa.

Not over here I guess, American football is worse because they need lots of armour, the big poofs, whereas proper football involves kicking a round object with feet, hence the name FOOTBALL. It's totally arrogant for them to have a different name for proper football from nearly everyone else.

NFL or American Football is literally rugby for idiots. Rugby was played at Yale around the time that Am. football was invented there. Look at the formations in the two games' similarities. No coincidence. Rugby is superior. Also, baseball's glorified rounders and basketball is netball for boys.

American football is too technical a game which practically no-one understands and you have a load of overgrown boys all padded up runnin around on a field chasing an oval shaped ball these boys should grow some balls and try rugby which is much easier to follow and guess what no pads so you actually get to feel the pain. as for english football it is a gentlemans game sofisticated refined and loved by all around the globe, so NO, NEVER, NOOIT i guess you get the picture will American football come close to English football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
