can an ide drive be installed in a pci expansion slot with the appropriate card?

intel is planning to drop support for ide drives in future chipsets. will other options exist.

yes with the card you can do it, it work fine , just like the way we use it early before it start intrigate to the board

You will always be able to use USB external drives. And no you cannot put a hard drive on a PCI slot.

You can use IDE controller card.
