Confused about this because they have no idea about how their surroundings look like.

" Yes, blind people do dream. What they see in their dreams depends on how much they could ever see. If someone has been totally blind since birth, they only have auditory dreams. If someone such as I, has had a measure of sight, then that person dreams with that measure of sight. I still dream as though I can see, colors included. For people I've met since, their faces are just blurs or how I imagine they look. To me, someone like my mother looks forever 30."

We have 5 senses. (Touch, smell, taste, sight, hearing)

Its documented that if we lose one of our senses the rest become heightened and sharper. Just because someone is blind doesnt mean they arent aware of their surroundings. They touch things and feel things which they can picture in their mind. They listen and hear things. They pay more attention to detail of their surroundings than what we do because they count how many steps it is to the mailbox or to the shops etc in order to get around. (the smells of flowers, the traffic etc)

They can still walk and talk and smell and taste and hear. All of which these senses for them are more heightened than ours. Colour probably doesnt have alot of meaning to them although they would be well aware colour exists from being educated. (for eg we are taught trees have a trunk and branches and leaves. the trunk and branches are brown and the leaves are green)

Some blind people can see smudges of colour but apart from that nothing else. I guess it depends on the individual. Some are blind from birth and some become blind along the way from diseases or unfortunate events like a hit to their head.

They have a brain that thinks just like the rest of us and still dream and wish just like the rest of us also.

People born blind do dream, but those dreams are based on what they have sensed before -- textures, sounds, smells and tastes. (I surmise in that order too).

I'll answer the first question, but scientists are still figuring out the second one. Dreams coincide with your brain being active while you sleep. Neurons, the cells of the brain, sends and receives nerve impulses, almost like a cascade or a "random" screen-saver. Why? There might be a hint in the fact we go crazy and die if we don't sleep. And we sleep to dream. It may be like re-booting your computer now and then. It puts all the files back in their respective folders, resets all the registers, and organizes your information.

I think this is probably one of the best questions asked on here. Really it has some thought in it. But to answer your questions i'd say, yes, blind people do dream. They may not see anything, but they can still sense and imagine things.

Of course they still have dreams. Those born blind who don't know what the world looks like, still have an idea what it looks like, they have to imagine what others look like, so their dreams are made up of what they think is reality and what people and objects look like.

I Believe they do.
I think It depends when the blind lost sight. At birth or at any age.
However dreams are based on feelings are set at human minds since birth .
So I don’t think color matters because when you tell about bus for a blind he knows when it comes, all other senses are working.

Well if they're born blind I don't thin kthey would dream. If they became blind sometime in their life, they probably do dream because they have seen the world around them already.

Yes. Yuo dream about what you experinced during the day. If you can see things, you dream about that. But you can also dream about the things you heard, the conversations you had, the thnigs you felt. Everything that happens to you stays in your memeory - even if you can't see. That is what is transfered into the dreams.
