If your aren't at your 36 week then stop thinking of inducing. If you are close to your 40 weeks then Castor oil may help. Lots and Lots of walking may help, some say spicy foods help. Having sex is the best way if you are close to 40 weeks or over.
I realize you are uncomfortable and want your body back but your baby will come out then it is ready. Be patient and enjoy time before you lose lot and lots of sleep.

With all the yearning to pass this final stage, unless due to medical reasons, one should restrain from inducing labour. There are numerous reasons, and I will mention two:
1) Health wise, the unborn baby receives nurishment, etc from it's mom.
2) Spiritualy wise: let the baby be born under it's destined stars, don't force a different life or qualities on your child...
May it be born in health and at the right time....

If I was to go through it all again I would take up belly dancing the movements get that little sucker out quicker!! And 29 hours of painful contractions with my first and ten for the others, I just wish I knew about it back then. I would be the world champion belly dancer now

Castor Oil taken in the night is guaranteed to induce labor quickly. Consult your OB for dose and duration

Besides a good dose of mineral oil , or the Dr. inducing labor for you, no....If you are close and beginning pains, a brisk walk is always a good thing...otherwise it is definitely NOT nice to fool mother nature!! Patience IS a virtue.

If you are already having contractions walking helps. Other than that only the doctor can induce labor.

No more than 2 tablespoons of castrol oil in 24 hrs. It works like a laxative and the motion down there can set labor off. but if it doesn't work then you will just have masive diarrea. =) I was also told to scrub the floor thoughly on your hands and knees. =)

doing a lot of walking can make labor come sooner... i also heard some kind of laxative but i would not advise that myself.. of course the doctor can induce your labor if he wanted too... otherwise just walk , get exercise and try to take one day at a time...it will soon happen...

I saw in a discovery chanel program where they said it is easier for a woman to give birthe in the bathtub or stanging up, but you should check with the doctor first.
good luck.
