You obvius need a new program. Alcochol 120% is god but you need a big hard drive. if you don"t try nero or clone cd.Alcochol is the best and you can download a trial at the official site but theres a crack at wheredown.com.

Had a similar problem to this, ended up buying a new replacement drive made by the same manufacturer. I had a 16X DVD by Lite-On did the same thing, RMAed it tried again with a DOA result. Got a replacement "new" drive from Lite-On, sold it. Went to Circuit City and bought a Lite-On 12X DVD-RW and it has work great ever since. Just a bit slower, but she works! Don't know why, but the computer seemed to like the 12X better than the 16X, the only reason I can think of is that the 16X was "new technology" when I built my computer and that the other components were not compatible with the 16X drive. I helped the guy install that 16X into his computer and it worked okay for him!

quick / cheap / easy: Try a CD cleaner disk in your drive. Could be dust etc. causing the problem.
Does the drive play CD's ok ?

Get Nero. If that doesn't work, your CD burner is probably finished. Can it read CDs without any problems?

I've had this problem. Sounds like you need a new burner. That is what fixed it for me.
