Technology.

Technology is an advance of any sort, science is a method for making advances. For example, one could invent the wheel without using the scientific method, and therefore without science.

P.S. I want to know what your teacher said.

In response to all the Science before Technologies: If someone accidentally found something without using any sort of scientific methodology, hyphothesis, conclusion, etc, does it not become technology? Do you think the first caveman to find fire sat and theorized about how to make enough friction to create it and set out to do so? I highly doubt it. He probably happened upon a naturally occuring fire and gathered some for himself. Therefore, with no scientific thought, he had the technology of fire. Science is simply a method (or technology), based on logic (an intellectual technology), that is (almost) universally accepted as the best way to test observable events in nature. Science is in and of itself a technology... it is plain to see that technology came first.

It was technology first because everything we use from rudimentary tools to utensils is a form of technology but science is the study of technology and other thought to form more than just technology, to form understanding of the universe around us and in the begining there was no scientific thought, just basic instinct.
