H*LL YEAH, some one who speaks the truth. Dixie Chicks Rock Bush's dumn a*ss is corupt, stupid, and wasted many peoples lives. He obiously doesn't know much about war and makes lame excuses when it comes to it such as:
the oil excuse, look at gas prices
weapons of mass destuction
and Osama Bin Laden

He's like the devil

Yes, I agree that Bush is a liar and a war criminal who deserves to be hung from a lightpost (I'm Canadian so I'm not being 'unpatriotic' by saying such things), and the Dixie Chicks are as entitled to their views as anyone else but they should have known by opening their mouths in public that they'd be stirring up big time controversy. I mean, if it was some kind of publicity stunt it certainly backfired. This whole Dixie Chicks thing is like the biggest music controversy since John Lennon said The Beatles were more popular than Jesus, fourty years ago...
Consider this: Neil Young just put an entire ALBUM that bashes Bush but you don't hear about Neil Young getting death threats and people burning their copies of "Harvest" in the streets, do you?
Music and politics don't mix, it's as simple as that. Nobody is putting a gun to your heads and forcing to buy Dixie Chicks albums or concert tickets; either they'll learn their lesson or they won't...it's a question of whether or not they want to be remembered for their music or their politics. Music is just a bit more noble...

I think that the Dixie Chic's have the right to say what they want where they want. This is the United States, Freedom of Speech. If people want to boycott them that's their right. I just think that people need to get a grip. Not everyone in the US are Republicans, and they don't want to be, but more than that If I want to say Bush sucks I have the right to do so because I was born in America.

First off, learn how to spell.

The dixie chics have a right to their opinion and so do the rest of us, the problem wasn't with what they said but with where and how they said it.

I don't hate the dixie chicks at all, but I think some people just need to keep their stupid faces out of politics, I'm sure you couldn't be president.

Just because you think something doesn't mean you have to tell the whole world about it. Freedom of Speech has some unspoken courtesy rules. One, DO NOT insult your president while in a country that doesn't like him to begin with. It gives France the wrong idea. I think he knows MORE than we do when it comes to war. He's the president. He was chosen by the people. Mr. Bush doesn't always make the best decisions, but he is still our president.

I dig the Chicks, but you gotta concede that it's certainly the right of anyone who disagrees with them to stop buying music and tix from them. Same thing happened with Jane Fonda and a few others during Vietnam - my dad refused to see one of her movies for years (not sure if he's *ever* paid to see one since then).

But the undertone of your question is right on - the viciousness of attacks upon the Chicks is crazy. Patriotism includes not just a right but an obligation to voice your opinion, without being told in turn that you have NO such right.

I don't hate the Dixie Chicks. I applaud them for their courage, but some people get so entwined with not questioning authority, it is much easier to lash out against others than to confront the potential errors of your decision.

Everyone has the right to free speech. If they want to talk down to their fans that is their right. You don't need millions of dollars to have that right.
I just have the same right not to buy their album or go to their concerts.
