The reason I ask is because to process diesel is less than that to process gasoline

G'day,

I reckon the reason is b'cos government does not subsidise diesel anymore, since it is producing more pollution than normal petrol. It's their way of steering people away from using diesel.

It depends on where you are and supply and demand for that area. Diesel was running $.10 cheaper a gal here for a long time.

Part of the reason, I would guess is trucks use this fuel and think about it how many trucks are on the road everyday?

i don't know. it is strange it used to be the same or cheaper. i think it is gouging, because the gas companies know we need trucks.
