Why have all the questions disappeared from the Egypt, Israel and Liverpool categories?

They haven't disappeared...

If you look under 'discover' or 'vote' you'll see plenty of questions.

It's only that no-one has asked any new questions on those categories for a few days so the 'open questions' bit is empty. Get asking and they'll soon fill up again.

Thus the mystery of the empty categories is solved.
