yes, sildenafil citrate has side effects (viagra is just a trade name, they mean the same thing). wight gain is not a common side effect but still be a side effect of viagra.

major problems with viagra are:
kidney and liver problems (as with most drugs)
blod pressure and heart attack/store
and more importantly retinal problems blindness.

the age also is an important factor as well as the frequency of usage. ie. if you are using it every day youre likely to have more problems than if youre using it once in a week.

it should not be used while on amyl nitrite (aka amyl, poppers, aromatics, spanish fly etc.) as its contraindicative (these drugs interact with sidenafil citrate and may lead to hospitalization of the user). for more info on contraindications go to the above link.

For MOST men the side effects are minimal. A flushed face, temporary blurred vision, slight nausea. There are a few men should not take it under any circumstances, in particular those men who use nitrite drugs for their hearts. It could kill them!!! Again for most guys the side effects are minimal and I've never seen weight gain being listed as a side effect. I'm a Viagra user by the way and don't suffer any side effects. ALL men should see a doctor before trying it though as erectile dysfunction can be a sympton of other conditions. Your doctor will most likely say okay and give you a prescription along with a sample six pack...but see that doctor...don't try to get it on line (you're liable to be ripped off anyway!)
