I'm pretty sure that in the movie he was a male but in the book it was a female.

In the book Chicken Little was female. Why they made it a male in the movie is beyond me.

Chicken Little was a male of course.... Because girls aren't chicken, girls are hen. Chicken Little is the twice removed cousin on his mom's side of Stuart Little, the now famous mouse (but no-one really talks about why Stuart's uncle, Bernie "the Rat" crossed over to screwing chickens)

In the movie he was a male.
His dad kept calling him boy, and in the end he was kissing the ugly duckling girl. So, unless his dad was feeding him a lie and he's not a lesbian, then boy.
(not to mention Zach Braff played his voice in the movie - also a male...sort of)
