They're classics but they helped me a lot when I was pregnant: What to Expect When You're Expecting, and What to Expect the First Year. The first book walks you through your pregnancy from conception to labor, and there are all sorts of answers to crazy questions in there, and what will happen at each doctors appointment. The second book takes you from the time you bring your baby home until his or her first birthday. I used it like a bible when I brought my son home, and it always had an answer for the questions I had as a new mom. Hope this helps!

Your Pregnancy Week by Week was my favorite- it takes you through each week and the stages, etc...
What to Expect when you're Expecting is a classic as well as What to Expect the First Year.
My all tiime favorite parenting book has been "The Baby Whisperer" by Tracy Hogg. Excellent, excellent, excellent. There is also an excellent website to accompany the book that has been a standby for me: www.thebabywhisperer.com
Check it out and I hope the best for you and your baby!

I heard the book called " BABY LOVE " by Robin Barker is fantastic! I'm a new 1st time mum too... My daughter is 4 1/2 months old but believe it or not I didin't buy any books on how to look after her when she was born...Most of how I've been bringing her up was maternal instinct, advice from other mums & the internet!!!! The internet has all the advice & info you need! If you need to know anything just Google it!!!! Hope that helped! :)

I am a mother of 3, and have children ranging from 2 to 12, and through every pregnancy i have bought a book by Miriam Stoppard as things can change so quickly from one child to the next. They were like a bible to me! I also found (and it is my personal choice only) that Mothercare are overpriced, and a lot of bits you need can be bought cheaper elsewhere! Especially clothes as they are not in them long at all...GOOD LUCK

its all based on what you want your child to be exposed to and grow up with. my sister is winnie the poooh everything, from the crib to the books, to the movies. you need to find what is going to work for y our budget and your lifestyle. as for the book, What to expect when your expecting and they have a journal you can keep to so you can look back and remember your pregnancy. Amazon.com has those on their site for cheaper than you can get them anywhere else! good luck! there are parenting websites that will tell you what you need to bring baby home and etc... if you want to use them. Parents.com is a good one!

I seriously recommend the Girlfriends' Guide to Pregnancy, by Vicki Iovine and another great book by her, called The Girlfriends' Guide to Surviving the First Year of Motherhood. They are great, funny, lighthearted, but helpful.

They are great stacked with great info. You can find them in any bookstore, library. I got mine at a used bookstore. All the best to you and yours.
